Jesus loves the little children. The Bible does not record many instances of Jesus interacting with children, but where He does, it is with abundant kindness and love. Throughout His ministry, He used children as an example of the type of faith that we should have; a faith that is pure, unassuming, trusting and humble. Therefore it’s important to nurture our children and raise them to be men and women of God.
Bethel offers a children’s ministry that serves to partner with parents to teach biblical truths through weekly Sunday school classes. We choose curriculum that encourages children to engage in discovery activities which introduce the Bible lesson for the day, followed by story time and crafts. Families worship together through the first song set, offering, and any relevant announcements or special presentations. The children are then dismissed prior to the sermon.
Children in Preschool (age 3 by September 1st) through 6th grade are welcome to participate. At our Chicago location, there is a playroom/gym available for toddlers, and a nursery room at the back of the sanctuary for parents and infants.
Additionally, beyond the classroom, we hold an annual week-long Vacation Bible School (VBS) during the summer, where children are invited to learn valuable lessons through music, snacks, games, crafts, storytime and more. See our events calendar for information on VBS 2016.
